I wonder if there is a way to get a small block of MAC address for free or for a reasonable price?
I tried to search the forum, but no luck.

Hi,
As I know, there is no free MAC.
You should be assigned MAC address from IEEE.
If you need a littel MAC address, You can assign MA-S from IEEE .
For more deatail, refer to INAN.
Another soloutioin, You can buy the eeprom built-in MAC address provided from Microchip or Dallas.
