Minimum register setup to "ping" W5500

We would like to have a quick check that our hardware design which uses W5500 is correct. To do this, we would like to “ping” W5500. My question is, what is the minimum register setup, so that W5500 will respond to “ping”?

My guess is that all we need to do is to set the SIPR to the IP address, then the “ping” should work.

However, this does not seem to be the case.

Any suggestions?

After SW or HW reset, do set its MAC address, Local IP address, Subnet mask and Gateway address.
If there is no error in writing, W5500 will reply to PING request.
