Does W7100A contain boot code?

Hi Wiznet?,

Does W7100/W7100A boot code region 0x0000-0x07FF contain a default ISP code?

Can I therefore use WizISP software to load application code into a blank W7100A chip via UART?

Your W7100A Datasheet refers 0x0000-0x07FF as Boot ROM code if BOOTEN pin to ‘1’,
meaning contains un-Flashable code?

Beginners needs better clarity in your W7100 datasheet concerning the above question.

Kind regards,

Hanspeter.

Here is Wiznet Reply:>

Dear customer.

Thanks for your interest in W7100A.
Q1. Does W7100/W7100A boot code region 0x0000-0x07FF contain a default ISP code?
a) Yes. That region is Boot ROM and is for ISP process.
Q2. Can I therefore use WizISP software to load application code into a blank W7100A chip via UART?
a) Yes. You can WizISP to load app code by BOOTEN pin to 1.
Q3. Your W7100A Datasheet refers 0x0000-0x07FF as Boot ROM code if BOOTEN pin to ‘1’,
meaning contains un-Flashable code?
a) Yes. Boot ROM code is un-Flashable.

Thanks.
WIZnet.

Hi Wiznet,

I have purchased WIZ108SR module for 422/485 to Ethernet application. In the manual i found that it supports most of TCP/IP protocols such as TCP, UDP, IP, ARP, ICMP, IGMP and Ethernet MAC. But nothing is mentioned about SNMP.

Does wiz108sr supports SNMP or not?

Your kind reply in this regard is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Amit

Hi, amitims28.

You can implement SNMP by your own software. So, 108SR support SNMP.
And we have example code at W7200. So, you should change code.

Best regards.

Thank you very much for your quick and prompt reply.

However we are looking for a ready to use source so that we need not to do any code porting.
Kindly let us know the available solution. The design is in prototype stage and we can migrate to any other WiZNET IC that already has SNMP stack implements .

Thanks,
Amit

Do you provide the source code of WIZ108SR?
If not, how can user implement the SNMP on the WIZ108SR?

Normally what’s the memory footprint of SNMPv1, v2 or v3?

Hi, raptor94.

W7200 has SNMP firmware.

But it is 7200 so you should change code.

Best regards.

Hi hjjeon0608,

I have seen the application note of W7200, and it support SNMP protocol. But SNMP firmare is loaded in W7200 or not? If not tan how can we modify it.

Also WIZ127SR & WIZ127SR-EVB is build around W7200, but they support only TCP, UDP, IP, ARP, ICMP, MAC, DHCP, PPPoE Network Protocols. SNMP is not mentioned there.

Do you have any standard S2E module ready to use without any firmware upgradation that support SNMP along with other network protocols?

Waiting for your prompt reply.

Thanks

Amit

Hi, amitims28.

I’m sorry. I was confused.

7100 or 7200 can be modified firmware but Serial to ethernet module cannot be.

So, there are not S2E module support SNMP protocol.

Best regards.

Hi everybody

If I use the Wizisp to flash the W7100A which is the uart default configuration (bauds)?

Best regards
Josep Ma.

Hi, Josep.
It should be set to 115200 baud.
Thanks.

Dear Wiznet,
So far we are using your direct serial to UART converters ,now we are planning to use this internet MCU , when we buy ,these will come directly with firmware so that we can use for TCP/IP to serial ? or we need to program it
