WIZ110SR Wiznet IC is hot to touch

Hi.
Just received my WIZ110SR and it took all of 30 minutes to setup and is already running LIVE ! Thanks for making it so simple.
My question relates to the running temperature of the WIZNET IC on this board. It’s hot when you touch it with your finger. It takes about 10 seconds before you need to remove your finger. I’ve removed both the ethernet and serial connector, and only have a 5VDC 3amp PSU connected… and it still runs hot. So I’m guessing this is normal ? Please advise.

Thank you for your attention.

If the operation of Ethernet is working, your issue is normal.
Maybe the temperature will be up to 40~50 ℃.
Other MAC PHY chip is same also.
