I am using a WIZ550io V1.1 and even with the Ethernet cable unplugged the PHY configuration register shows the link as up. I have tried directly reading the register and using the ctlwizchip() utility function and both consistently return a value of 0x01 whether the cable is connected or not. When the cable is connected I can ping the device at any address I set, so I know I am properly communicating with the w5500. Any ideas???
