W5500 with NRF52840

We are evaluating W5500 as an option for adding Ethernet Capabilities to Nordic’s NRF52840 Chip.
We are planning to connect W5500 to CPU over SPI, so can support BLE < – > TCP in our product.

We came across the following blog : https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/nordic/nordic-blog/b/blog/posts/wiznets-ble-to-tcp-gateway

In the above example, W5500 is being used with SD\MMC.

My questions are :

  1. What is the SD\MMC used for ?

  2. Do I need to add SD\MMC to my PCB design as well ?
Note that on the NRF52x I am planning to run the code from git hub ( https://github.com/hooni1020/BLE_to_TCP_W5500_Shield/tree/master/examples/ble_central/ble_uart_c_to_tcpc/Wiznet )

  3. Is this code applicable to NRF52840 ? ( example is on NRF52832 )

  4. Can it be used with nrf 15.3 SDK ?

Hi Wrani,
The answer to your question is below.

  1. What is the SD\MMC used for ?

  2. Do I need to add SD\MMC to my PCB design as well ?
-> SD\MMC is for testing purposes only. if you run it as a Web Server, You have to use SD\MMC.
    because of HTML SIze.

  3. Is this code applicable to NRF52840 ? ( example is on NRF52832 )
    -> I attached a nRF52840 example for below link
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1bsgM303bwd9aIN_zbZvWqGZU2F9s38yY
You can test it using local server.

  4. Can it be used with nrf 15.3 SDK ?
I think, You will have no problem migrating.

Thank you.
