W5200 in MACRAW mode

I have two questions about the behavior of W5200 in MACRAW mode:

  1. How is the CRC used in MACRAW mode? The Ethernet frame has a 4 byte CRC code. Is it up to the user application to make use of the CRC check and throw away corrupted frames or is that taken care of by the W5200?

  2. Is it possible to use multicast addressing in MACRAW mode? In the datasheet, the description of Unicast, Broascast and Multicast is only given under the UDP section. Furthermore, in the description of the MULTI bit of Sn_MR it says “It is applied only in case of UDP”. Does this mean that multicast is not possible in MACRAW?
