Wizfi210 lower the power consumption

Hi…

How can i lower the power consumption on the Wizfi210?

According to the spec, the current draw is 125mA when recieving and 135mA transmitting. My module is fixed at 135mA, when connected and in “standby mode” (no TX/RX).

I’ve tried these commands:

AT+WRXPS= n=0 (disable) =1 (enable) If 1, Power Save mode is enabled.
AT+WP= 0 to 7 (WizFi210) Transmit power set to .

The commands are [OK], but the current draw isn’t changed at all.
Any ideas?

Note: i want lower the current draw when connected, so Deep Sleep etc is not what i’m seeking.

Any ideas?

Hello hobbex

If you want to use of WiFi power save of WizFi210, you should issue <AT+WRXACTIVE=0>
If WRXACTIVE=1, WizFi210-radio-receiver is always on.

Anyway, please try it again with below commands.

  • AT+WRXPS=1
  • AT+WRXACTIVE=0

Steve

i’m sorry to say that these commands has no effect at all.

The current draw is still 120-130mA .

i tried:
AT+WRXPS=1
AT+WRXACTIVE=0
AT+WP=1

and
AT+WP=7

No change at all.
Anything else i should/could try?

Here is my test log.
